Latechmom, if you noticed, the high school age group has been eliminated....That is the age group you are referring to. And if you want to know the flip side, the VHS team wasn't satisfied either....it was no practice for a team that was prepared to play in school competition, and they were told there were going to be other high school teams playing, not summer league sign ups. My opinion, they should draft the whole league, not just the lower age groups. Afterall, there is experience to learn from! And, of course, the other kids would have enjoyed it more too.

Wow....they get a 60% pay raise and are TRYING to get a 3% for those that put their life on the line EVERYDAY? Sounds like a winner! HA! The trash collectors are going to get the same pay increase as the firefighters and police officers? They really should have thought this out better!

And Gene Allen wonders why his people didn't re-elect him?????? Way to go Mr Harris...I bet your people remember this come next election, and you win unanimously in your district!! I agree that maybe a donation to Ms. Lloyd would have been more appropriate, but to pay the mayor's way?? Sorry, sounds like something fishy between the mayor and Gloria Lloyd!! Bet Gene's wife has something to say about him going to sin city without her with another woman!

The town does have an awesome ambulance service, but, I believe in this instance, the town ambulance was involved in another call prior to this call, and could not respond until done with transporting the patient they already had.....when this happens, 911 dispatches the call to another existing ambulance service. The complaint isn't against Vidalia's ambulance service, but the next ambulance service in line to take the relief call when Vidalia's is busy.

Let me see if we have this right....Police Jury appoints the Rec. Board...(this I KNOW).....Police Jury calls for a meeting with the Rec. Board, and the Rec. Board fails to show up...hmmmmmm!! Sounds like the Rec. Board needs reprimanded for NOT upholding their appointed positions! At least the President should have made an appearance, unless he had called ahead of time to say why he couldn't be there! And it is obvious that no calls were made by ANYONE! Let any one of us try that with OUR jobs, and yes, being on the Rec. Board is a JOB...just ask any of them!!!! (Oh, and they do get a paycheck for it!!)

My information is firsthand...and I did not get it from the news media or the police department. I just hope none of the people on here making the offensive remarks have to deal with what this family is having to deal with right now, and then have to read about all of this garbage that I have read on here. I used to really think that the comment sections on here was a good idea....I am having serious doubts about that now, as I see how harmful some of it can really be. I thought our area was one that would come together and help each other when needed...if you all read these posts carefully, some people thrive on bringing others down! I can only guess it is out of boredom! Have some heart people! I have seen more than once how some of you thrive on other's sorrows....I can easily recall how disgusted I was when the 3 young men were killed in the car accident last July 4 and how some of you couldn't wait to report what "bad thugs" these guys were!....although there may have been illegal activity involved, they were still loved by someone! My prayer is that none of you ever have to face such sorrow in your lives and have to read such hateful comments such as some that I have read on here! Why can't we all just have a common goal and that is to show support and concern for this family and not be so judgemental!

I cannot believe some of the remarks some of you people are making....especially not knowing the FULL story. The Democrat is trying so hard to spare the public of the details I am sure...so would you people just let enough be enough? Truth of the matter is tarhop, he did yell at what he thought was an intruder, and she ran towards Glen, apparently thinking he had spotted someone in the house and was running TO him for protection. He knew that when he left the bedroom, Deborah was in there. He did not know she came out into the kitchen area. So if you will, let that be enough for you public speculators to know, and let the Mizell and Brewer families deal with their tragedy and loss in peace without all of these "he should have" suggestions. Hindsight is 20/20, and we ALL know that....it was an ACCIDENT! Accept that, as Deborah's family has, and leave well enough alone! Glen has made his peace with God, and the rest is between him and his God....quit being so judgemental about something that most of you know not enough about! God Bless the Mizells and the Brewers! Keep your faith strong, as God is with you and will stay with you! You are in my prayers always! (And Thank you for being there for ME when I needed you the most! I am forever grateful!)

The entire Mizell family are personal friends of me and my husband....This is very heartbreaking for Glen and Amanda! Raven, for you to even insinuate that it was anything other than an accident is ludicrous, to say the least! You have NO idea what this has done to this family! May God have mercy on you!! My only hope is that the person/persons responsible for the prior break-in that left Debra and Glen so nervous to sleep in their own home is caught and charged with murdering Debra, because he/she/they are the ones responsible for her death!! God loves you Glen and Amanda, and so do we!!

Isn't that funny? I'm no fan of GA, but by Promise's own admission, he practically says he doesn't live in Ferriday....seems like GA is getting bit back for all of his RM support he dished out! HA HA HA

Exactly blasterhappy.....This is just another one of those, "if you have $$$$, you can play". This young lady is a good ball player, but there are very talented "others" that will never get the opportunity because they aren't the "chosen ones" on Hall's list!!!
