texasranger..you are wrong. The monitor tech is there 24/7. She doesn't sit at the main desk..she is there between icu and telemetry. She doesn't leave the monitors. Your nurse was pbl. in another room or getting something you needed...it is never unattended. Busy happens sometime and with the bloody syringe and cloth it sounds like she was working on your IV that accidentally got bend back. The nurses at NR are senior nurses...pbl. trained/worked with the nurses at NCH. The nurses/drs. at NR are there..working very hard these days. The ER has never been without an ER doc in the hospital. The ambulances come in many times a day, there are 2 or 3 bays, there are codes, trauma, helicopter picks pt.s up..get real. I would have to say that the nurses give great health care and work tirelessly! Kudos to Mr. Philips for his professionalism.

Where does this stereotyping of doctors playing golf come from? Probably from the ignoramous that is worried about the nutritional needs of the nurse grabbing a bite at the nurses station during her 12+ hour shift. Nurses are docked 30 min. for lunch and never get it. I don't doubt you haven't seen one eating at the nurses station. And as for going out of town for services...well the helicopter just flew over to pick someone in trouble up and just remember in your time of need there is no dr. on the golf course and that nurse has forgotten all about that snack for you!

great...when the hospital sells they will have a lots of millions to play with. I know they should spend it on giving the kids something to do. Whatever that is. Since I was a teenager everyone has said there is nothing to do in Natchez! The riverwalk has turned into medical so maybe natchez could be the fun city. oh yea..fix our streets!

Philips needs to get out take a walk around the hospital. The fifth floor has patients. It's a physical rehab. floor..does great things for pt.s. Why is Dan Bland trying to spend regionals money on an LTAC? Maybe whoever buys Regional doesn't want an LTAC..maybe they would like to bring other services into the community...and then again..wouldn't that be a duplication of services since we will have an LTAC 5 miles from the hospital? What a mess the Board makes!

Philips said everything that the nurses knew all along about how great this hospital can be! Just because the hospital is in financial crisis nursing care is not compromised. Everyone does an awesome job at what they do everyday.

No duplication of services so..if you need an xray pls go to this hospital...oh and the ER is at the other hospital so come back for your xray. Surgery is at one hospital but lab is at the other. Yes there is only one ER so take a number. No i don't see it yet! If HMA buys NR then there needs to be one new hospital or oops we are still duplicating services! NC can't support all the patients so well they will have to go to the bigger hospital. Can't run 2 hospitals without services now can we? I think the duplicating of services bit is just a way to say we want all the money for the services even though they have to be done at both facilities to provide healthcare. How many specialist and primary care physicians are going to be recruited as the other article states and isn't that a duplication of services! Whats wrong with ones we have?

There we go again...recruiting highly qualified specialists and primary care physicians.
