Ben, you are so right. In the past, I have been in a hoopskirt and described the objects in a room. I was only able to repeat what the owner gave me to say. I remember being so frustrated, as I knew there had to be some interesting stories to tell that the tourists would enjoy. I recall thinking that these people could go into an antique shop and see these same things.

Just ignore him. I find your essays very informative, even though I don't always agree with them.

You only hear about these hazing events because that is what is reported in the news. Greeks are about higher education as well as citizenship, friendship, committment, community awareness, and countless other great things. They raise thousands of dollars every year for charity. They work hard, and yes, they play hard. These hazing things are a few bad apples and quite the minority. I can tell you first hand that the Greeks at LSU are very involved in campus organizations and strive for excellence.

What is the difference between a cruise ship and the Delta Queen? Oh my. It is huge! Cruiseliners, like steamboats have a multitude of activities to do while on board (bands, dancing, bingo, lectures, lots of good eating, etc.). However, cruiseliners have to actually dock before there is scenery (discounting water water everywhere). On a riverboat, all one has to do is sit out on the deck and watch the world go by: eagles, deer, men fishing, children playing, trees, need I say more?
And, the excursions are right here in the good ole USA! Civil war battlefields, Space Center, the Kentucky Derby, and so much more. I have enjoyed the pleasure of both, and they are both wonderful in their own way.
Yes, the Delta Queen needs to be saved, to be used and enjoyed!

I looked and could not find it on any Baton Rouge station either.

Me thinks we are trying to compete with Louisiana politics. Remember Edwin Edwards??
