I am glad you people have had such wonderful experience with Dishnetwork and Direct TV. I on the other hand have had a terrible experience with them both. I am a stay at home mom and a news junkie. I cannot count the number of times my programs would be interrupted because of a "loss of satellite signal". After six months of this I decided to switch back to cable. My cable has been out only once in the past two months and was fixed within an hour. I like cableone and the people who worked there. Anytime I have had a problem the employees have been nice.

I have lived in Natchez all my life and was wondering, how did we pay our police officers and firemen before the gambling boat came? Maybe those of least importance, meaning the people who don't protect and serve, should be the first to be laid off in the event of any crisis. Just a thought.

I think it all depends on the child and the "family system". We do have a poor and out of control public school and I would definitely home school rather than send my children to Natchez High or Robert Lewis Middle School. I would even move if I had to.

Thanks for your comment buttercup26. I realize how STUPID I sound and should not have taken my frustration out on destiny. I was wrong and have no problems admitting my fault. Lesson learned. No one school is the right school for every child and I don't know of a single school in Natchez that doesn't have problems. Nothing makes a parent more angry than to see their child be degraded and humilated by those entrusted to BUILD them up and then to feel powerless to do anything about it. I am not angry now and will have a great weekend. Thank you.

buttercup26: it is called "venting" one's frustration over something that has been a long-time coming. everyone who has anything to do with the school and this matter knew what was going on. there was no need for questioning. and i like you, am entitled to my opinion and yes will be the first to admit that i need help in understanding how things can go on as long as they have. also, if you do not attend the games of this school and do not support the program then why bother caring what goes on there. it is people like you who receive some type of thrill when bad things happen at the "perfect lil over RATED private school".

To Destiny: Obviously you were never at any of the games, or you would not have asked such a stupid question. If you were there and did not notice then please seek help.
Thank God for Coach Fife. He may not lead our team to a state championship this year but at least the boys will feel good about themselves for playing their hearts out.

To supertrucker: Obviously you don't have a clue as to what the sheriff does! I do not work for any law enforcement agencies but I do rely on them for assistance and I can tell you that Ronnie Brown is a dedicated, hard-working guy. He serves on numerous boards where his role makes a difference. He is on-call 24-7. So you are truly ignorant on the subject matter of the role of the Sheriff of Adams County and should do further research before posting such comments.

I would like to suggest that the public have a meeting as well. In this meeting we need to discuss how to clean house. It is time to replace all the members on the Board of Aldermen with new ones. Members who can bring fresh new ideas and commit to problem solving rather than finger pointing. I guess it has gotten too hot in the kitchen for the Board due to all the public comments on this site. Now they have to meet in secrecy. Members want to get in public and criticize the Chief of Police and the NPD. They want to talk big and act like hot-shots but let the conversation and criticizing come their way and they are ready to hide. What a shame.

To Nicholas and P.J., I am so proud of you for your compassion and quick thinking. You should both be commended for your bravery. Although Mr. Dixon passed, you are heros to us parents because your actions probably saved lives and/or prevented a major castrophe. Thank you!!! To the family of Mr. Dixon, I am sorry for your loss and pray that God will give you comfort during this time.
