What is the answer to all of your complaints? Sounds like y'all want someone else to fix the problem. Maybe the government? It is ridiculous how dependant the American people have become on their government. It is no one's fault but our own that the price of crude is sky rocketing. We've built our lives and cities around automobiles that are fueled by a limited resource. I'm sorry but big oil did not force you to buy a SUV, live so far from work you have to drive, build bigger houses, etc.. All of these things we did on the stupid assumption that we will always have and are entitled to cheap oil. GROW UP!

A cougar? Try hundreds of cougars! There are several cougar dens on Main Street, I've seen them. It is very possible one was over served and wandered in the the bayou around Briel Avenue.

On Do you believe there has been a cougar in Downtown Natchez recently?

Way to go Camo!

I can't believe the Democrat did not even put Camo in the article. You would think that they would report the company that did such a terrible job.

The "Gauge Zero" is not the bottom of the river. A simple look at the NOAA website will show you that the record low water mark is -2.7' from gauge zero. The COE maintains a 9' shipping channel at all river stages, so in 1930 when the stage was -2.7' the river was still 9' deep if not significantly deeper.

Therefore the fact the Democrat is trying to give you is that at stage 57' the river is 74.5' above sea level, not 74.5' deep.

It is a shame the Democrat cannot get the simple facts straight about one of our most important geographic feature.

They are making the "QE2", Queen Elizabeth 2, into a floating hotel in Dubai.

What a great idea for the Delta Queen; only in Natchez of course, not Dubai!

On Recreation board meets for first time

Posted on February 21 at 3:33 p.m.

Why not just use the plans the Recreation Board came up with in the 90's? Those plans were for the bean field. Why do we have to go through the same processes over and over again? Let's stop re-planning and do something.

yes nosyrosy people do drive to Vicksburg to work... but did you know that Vicksburg is now milling over reports that 20% of it's work force doesn't live in Warren County? Sure they have the jobs, but what does it say about a place when no one wants to live there? They have no movie theater... a lack of restaurants... a lack of affordable housing... and a failing school system.

Natchez at least is a nice place to live thanks to those that keep it beautiful. Have you even been to Vicksburg? It is dirty, run down, and abandoned. Also, please give a way that keeping things nice deters business. It doesn't... look at Madison. People of all socio-economic groups want to live in a nice, clean, attractive environment... Something that Natchez has BIG TIME!

We need much more... more good jobs... better schools... ect. I'm not saying we have it all... But when those things start coming... which they will... we already have a great beautiful city for people to relocated to!

Again I say with Natchez and Vidalia teamed up the sky would be the limit! We'll never be self-sustaining... we really wouldn't make much sense that way. We need each other and should work to that end.

On Does Vidalia need a port facility?
