Thanks happyreader. It is sad when I come home to visit to see how things are changing. I noticed on the bypass how the grass had overgrown the curbs and how unkept the streets are. I know the tax base has dwindled which is used for public works. Since I am no longer a resident but a visitor I can see the decay. There is so much beauty in Natchez, she deserves better care.

The Pecan Factory was demolished, now First Baptist Church. What property will be next? Might as well have let the northerners burn it to the ground years ago then there would be nothing to worry about. Oh fiddly dee!

So much time spent posting here. Must be a lot of people in Natchez with nothing but time on their hands. Instead of spending the day here why not do something? All talk and no action. Oh, I left a long time ago. I just read the paper online a couple of times a week to see how ridiculous things have gotten. A M A Z I N G!

Question for the NPD, why wasn't social services contacted? These so called guardians need counseling at least, possibly have their children removed from the home. "To Serve and Protect" NPD. Even the smallest ones. Children have no voice, but you do. Do the right thing. Revisit this before it is too late.

Sounds like Mother Nature is taking it out on Natchez! Wow, the storms just keep coming. There should be an emergency shelter established for people to go to after the storm. My parents are still without power and because of poor health need to be kept cool. At what time is the Red Cross called in for assistance or MEMA/FEMA? There needs to be a strategic plan in place for these disasters. It seems they are happening on a regular basis and thus far it is the same routine. Everyone is held captive until power is restored. Whether that be 2 hours or 2 days or 2 weeks. I understand the power company is doing all it can. At what point do the City Father's declare an emergency? I think it is passed time.

My Dad was in NRMC for a stroke he suffered a few years ago. After he had been there a few days, he was moved from ICU to a private room during the night. My Mom had gone home that night to rest. She had told the staff to call her at anytime if she was needed. She did not get a call. My Dad was very disoriented. They placed him in the private room and shut the door. Upon checking on him some FIVE hours later, he was found on the floor. Unable to move. The poor care at NRMC hasn't just started. This happened six years ago. I find it hard to forgive the staff for allowing this to happen. And yes my complaints were heard. I was told someone was terminated because of this. I never saw anything in writing of course. NRMC stands for Not Really Meidcal Care.

Hmmm-wonder when someone will say the decrease is due to gloabal warming? Or could it just be we have had some bad hurricanes over the passed few years? Or maybe somebody has too much meat in their freezer? So many possibilities. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.... Eat more chicken!

I am surprised someone hasn't asked when the opening day of cougat season is. The good old boys must not be ND readers. Also, with Obamanomics, a little extra meat in the freezer can't hurt!

(My recent letter to Wal Mart sums up a non-smokers struggle with "the freedom to smoke".)
Last evening I visited your store to purchase several items. As I exited the store on the grocery side I was overcome with nausea as I passed the smoldering pot of cigarette butts that are at your entrance/exit door. I know that Wal Mart isn't in control of peoples smoking habits but I am hoping there is something that can be done with the ever present fire at your door. My clothes and hair were washed in smoke smell and I was very queasy after the experience. This isn't the first time this has happened and I am sure not the last. Smoking is offensive to some people and I am one of those people. My non-smoking habit isn't an inconvenience to anyone. But a smokers habit is an inconvenience for me. Please install a proper disposal container for cigarette butts. And please extinguish your eternal flame. Thank you.

The customer is always right. Well, long, long ago in a land far away. Oh--that would be the same place where good manners were the norm and elderly people were treated with respect. Some want a change in America, I just want some of the old ways to be made new again.
