Stan, just consider units with emergency back up power in the event of power outages caused by the oncoming event. I've had to help mitigate against this here in Kansas. Keep up the good work.

Oh? I almost forgot...Let everyone's dogs run loose and scatter the garbage that is no longer picked up and crap in each other's yards. No, we don't need any government services.

I got a good idea. Why don't all the mouthpieces and naysayers run for public office, cut their salaries to $5 a month and then straighten things out? By Golly.
As far as City Government goes, with a single affirmative vote the Aldermen could unincorporate the city and cease to exist. Streets lights will go out, police cars could be sold off, give the firetrucks to the county volunteers, shut down the senior center, let Duncan Park turn into an urban forrest, Make the bluff park a cow pasture, forget traffic lights and pot holes, let people built thier houses out of cardboard if they want, forget cleaning up after a storm, and for sure, the hell with economic developement. We don't need any services and surely those that move out of town a couple of miles never have a need to come to town anyway? Everyone can buy a pistol and we'll all live happily ever after.

Gonna miss you, Mr. Carlisle. I remember you at the BF Goodrich store on E. Franklin street as a kid. Loved the smell of the place and awed at the bicycles. I'll see you on the other side when I get there.

WOW! I must be getting old. I remember Papa George when I worked at the C&G Grocery which was in the triangle where Auburn Ave. branches off from Franklin St. I was a bag boy at the store and Papa George was a regular customer. He kept his harmonica in his pocket and whenever he came to the store we would all encourage him to play for us. And he would. He sure could play that harmonica!

Awe!!!! Reggie!!!,
What in the dickens did you have to check out now for? You were suppose to hang around a lot longer than this. I'm way away from Natchez and surely wanted to come see you so we could talk and laugh about all the stuff we went through. I guess I'll just have to wait until my turn and see you in the next place. It is rare to have a friend like you. I'm going miss you.
To Pat, Phyliss, Jerome and the rest of ya'll: Hang in there, he told me so much, he loved ya'll to pieces.

jlmorris, I would assume that Cathy Walker has been working with MEMA and FEMA for quite some time and has in place a contractor that owns what is known as a Tub Grinder. It's a machine that will grind even huge stumps. For a rental fee and a few days of grinding, the stuff is reduced in size as to be mulch. I'd give her a little credit for trying to reach a reasonable solution to the problem. Of course my assumption is probably wrong, she may have found a method even cheaper than that. Sometimes we are a little hard on our officials with our public comments.
