your comment made me lol! First because I rarely get on here and PERSONALLY bash someone (which I really wasn't that harsh) and second because I think Rinaldi can be a jerk SOMETIMES and sometimes he is dead on. Either way he isn't going to hide under a fake name in the democrat. While we are guessing, today seems to be the only time you have commented! Must have some pretty close ties to Butch huh? Would you be in MSviaTn too? Or did you have to move?

Butch may not have an RV, but at one point in time had a nice "little boat" on the coast he spent time on while short changing his employees. Think about people, it is Butch's land! He would say develop a turnip farm there if he thought the city or someone else would come in and actually do the development and hew would walk away with a nice profit. Butch is smart, slick, and rich. But all those things don't necessarily make you a fine upstanding citizen, or even a good boss for that reason.Like it was mentioned above, if the city okays an RV park on that land, and gave the Gammill's everloving you-know-what about the construction of Fat Mama's, we need to see who has greasy Butch money in their pocket. That being said, I personally think Butch was a good mayor. It takes a crook to think like a crook and Butch was in the crooked network to pull strings to get jobs and other grants, etc.. for Natchez. But you can always bet he is looking out for himself.

Now that made me laugh, since you were not being "racial"
My condolences to the family of the young man who was killed. Whatever the reason, he is dead and not coming back. If you can't have sympathy for the family, then you are heartless.

What do the names have to do with the article? Anyway, Coach Johnson is a great person. She is so geniune with her affection for the students it is contagious. Thanks for all your hard work!

When I first read the title, I thought Julie was off from the start of the article...bridging a racial gap is not an "art." It is humanitarianism. Most racists don't make it a black/white issue. They simply do not have the capacity to have compassion, sympathy, or empathy for anyone who is not directly involved in their lives. Whether in reverse racism, straight forward racism, hate crimes, or even genocide, most people involved would rather blame others than help. Do you think many KKK members donate their time to St. Jude's? Or raise money in the name of UNICEF? Would Al Sharpton be on Sean Bell's band wagon had he been white and shot 50 times? Racism is just another name for what Satan wants the world to endure, and die with on our hearts. I know many racists, on both sides of the black and white coin, and the truth is they don't seem to like anyone, other races, homeless, poor, rich, women, men, children, preachers, teachers, lawyers, etc... least of all themselves. So as far as eradicating racism being compared to art, Britannica Online says: art is the way something is done -- "the use of skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others."
I think that is something each person can look inside themselves and find to reach out to someone less fortunate, or to help other races.

I think the standardized tests SHOULD be administered. It lets us see where we are in realtion to the rest of the nation. However, they should not determine pass or fail, and NCLB should not hold all states to the same accountability. But it should not change the fact that we should be passing these tests. Period.

Not that Hooper's tenure at RLMS has anything to do with Dr. Wright's appointment to the school board...but yes it does seem like favoritism at its best. A deadline is a deadline, you don't meet it, you don't make it. Hasn't everyone here had a deadline to meet? I have missed several deadlines, and was either denied something or penalized monetarily. Hopper was set up for failure at RLMS, by not being given the help he needed to run the school sucessfully, but then decided to give administration what they wanted by making some serious errors in judgement. But is all in who you know here...just really wondering what Dillard's "perk" is in all of this?
