I agree with you on the fact that we give away way to much friendship money overseas.
After watching people complain about being in shelters during this past hurricane, I hope they all stay in New Orleans next time a storm as bad as Katrina comes through. Every local channel had interviews with people complaining about free food, free shelters and free transportation....sickening.
Bunch of spoiled lazy ### people thinking they deserve vacations for free because they choose to keep going back to New Orleans after every warning storm....Let them rebuild by themselves from now on.

I tried to give some advice about hiring contractors a few days after the hurricane and some "idiot" blasted me for it.
some basic rules.
1. Do not hire out of state contractors. If they are from other states, they have a tendency to go home with your money and never come back.
2. Check the website for the Miss. State Board of Contractor to make sure they are legally n the state.
The website address. is www.msboc.org I think. It may be msboc.com...but Google it and check the license number before you hire them. If they do not have a builders license or general contractors license, tell them thanks, but no thanks. You will have no avenue of recourse if you hire unlicensed contractors.
