I do not believe some of you people. You are constantly on here saying the BOA and elected officials should take a cut in salary and when they do ..... you complain because you don't think it is enough.

I no longer have a child in school but the supply list at her school were excessive as well. During elementary school I sent all the listed supplies because the PTA put them together in a packet. It is very disheartening to purchase 6 or 8 boxes of crayons and my child end up having to use small broken ones because the teacher passed out hers to other students. Of course I bought her new ones. I also know for a fact that some of the supplies ended up in the Teacher Lounge, Office, Kindergarden, Day Care and Sunday School Rooms.

My two cents worth.
I respect H for H for trying to help. I have not personally seen the type of situation nlhoman did but if that is the case then they need to screen their applicants more carefully.
As for the police catching criminals. They can investigate but if citizens do not confess what they know about the situation then the criminals will not be found. Have any of you complaining about them every been made aware of or suspected criminal activity by some one you know? Did you report it?

That's ok NtxMom55. Haven't you heard. The president is going to fix that problem with free health care.
Then the only ones to get decent health care will be the pets going to the vet.

guy2co..It is my understanding that city employees get raises based on the amount of time they are employed with the city..not based on performance. If that is the case then they get raises much easier than many of us.
Also..I understand at this time they pay $25.00 toward their insurance. Very few of us are that lucky. Also, most people have an increase in the amount they contribute toward their insurance every time employers have an increase in cost of insurance.
If the city is short of cash then salaries should be frozen, unnecessary services discontinued and if necessary then employees should pay more toward their insurance.
On Should the city raise employee healthcare costs to balance the budget?

I have to agree with Julie. the public and most of the newsmedia is gave the death and funeral of Michael Jackson much more coverage than it warranted. The heros of our children should be people that deserve it. My prayers are with the family but all the rest of the circus around the funeral/memorial service was uncalled for. As for state/federal resolutions, stamps etc - I feel there are many more deserving of those honors.

If obesity is treated as a disease by the insurance the people could draw disability just because they are obese.

Actually, the decline of the hospital still rest with the B.O.S. because as government owns the hospital it is their responsibility to hire competant administrators and to oversee the work of those administrators. That is something that it appears the B.O.S. is unable to do.
If they are unable to fulfill ALL of their responsibilities (administration and paving roads etc) then perhaps Natchez needs a new B.O.S.
