lovethatntz stated....."Mayfield stated "Adams County stands at a crossroad. (The county) can be better or slip into something worse. I’m out here tonight as a candidate that can make things better." The implication is that Ray Brown will make things worse." The implication is NOT that Ray Brown will make things worse, the implication is that Mayfield can make things better....to imply otherwise is ridiculous!

I have great respect for both men...either would do an excellent job. But what sets Chuck apart is that he has a variety of experience in every level of law enforcement, something I don't think Ray has. They certainly would make a dynamic team. As Mojo said in one of his earlier posts, too bad we can't have both!

Adams County can't go wrong with either Chuck or Ray. Both are great choices.

thanks Ben for sharing.....I noticed that the comments seemed to be a little lopsided toward one candidate. The truth of the matter is we are blessed to have several candidates who are qualified to be sheriff....each with their own unique strengths. We as individual voters have to decide which candidate's views are most similiar to our own and vote accordingly. For me, that person is Chuck Mayfield because he emphasizes prevention and working with youth so much. For someone else, it may be Cox's education. Whatever the choice, badmouthing a person and posting derogatory comments is not going to sway votes to a differenct candidate.

Nancy DOES NOT live in an affluent neighborhood...I know, she lives right down the street from me!!! If anyone wants to see where their money goes when donating to a non profit, all you have to do is go online to the Secretary of State's Office. Every non-profit is required to file a 990 tax form which is posted there. The form breaks down what is spent on program services, administrative services, fundraising, etc. It is a good idea to make sure the agencies that receive your donations are using it wisely...they should have no more than 20% administrative costs....

Joyce Arceneneaux, you should be fired...your vendetta against Brett is well-known. You will have to answer to someone much more powerful than us for your actions...p.s. there isn't an agency in town willing to "hire" your daughter so quit asking/threatening!

P.S. ND, print the grant funding she has brought in. For instance, the upcoming $1.3 million to ovelay a major thoroughfare into Natchez. OldGRandDad...you hit the nail on the head.....we need to start calling her Mayor Arceneaux.

I'll throw my two cents in.......this is a personal , not personnel, issue- pure and simple. The alderwoman who is spearheading this drive by four BOAs has been after her for a long time. Now she has her usual cohort with her plus another one too uninformed to know better. But the final person in this little group DOES know better...he is the number-cruncher who obviously can't do simple math...her annual salary versus what she has brought in. I am so disappointed in my friend...I thought he was smarter than this. The city needs to layoff people but certainly not someone who brings way over her salary in. ND, why not list the grants that have been successfully secured under her watch? Maybe that would stop some of this craziness. I know that she has been offered other jobs and hope that she won't have to leave Natchez...we need her skills. But if I was in her shoes, there is no amount of money that would make me stay with the City.

juju, her contributions have been SUBSTANTIAL...like, for instance, the +$1 million coming up to do major street overlays. You obviously don't understand grants if you think that just because the government says the money is there, every community in America is going to get it. grungebob, I spoke of all BOAs, not anybody else. You are correct in two..but there are four involved. The pettiness and vindictiveness that we are allowing people we put into office to engage in is beyond disgusting. Rest assured, next election, my vote won't be for ANY of the incumbents.

Ray does not manage the NPSD budget, Margaret Parsons does. He is responsible for his department's budget, which is security...it is nowhere near $41 million.
