I agree with oldschool. The only thing you can do is pray because the system won't ever change. The state takes kids away and then they give them right back.
Who is accountable when something happens to the child? The Judge? The social worker? The child's lawyer? The parent?
There is no way I could take a child into my home and nurture and love them and then watch them go back into the same situation. I do have the upmost respect for those that do but I wouldn't put myself or my family through that.

WOW! Expansion at the Mall. It only took 30 years. I guess better late than never. It would be nice if there was a Buffalo Hot Wings.

I am thinking that if something isn't done for the locals to keep them there then all you will have to support you will be the tourists. There is a need for activities for families. But then again why bother. You have the tourists.

Thank you ULM for helping these kids get a head start.
It's really ashamed that Co-Lin doesn't work with Vidalia High in their dual enrollment program. You have to pay full price for classes AND pay out of state tuition.

Maybe they just had a wonderful church and good friends and this is where they wanted to raise their family.
I know for a fact that Mike comes home and Susan and the kids go see him. This was not a decision that was made overnight.

The problem for us was my kids were in a classroom of almost 30 kids. And at least half were from out of state and/or out of the parish.
Le them buy a house in Vidalia. That's what I had to do.

I am still waiting for my power to be restored. I finally just threw the breaker and went to Texas. I just wonder if having no electricity is an acceptable excuse for missing school?
