The charge is all that Mississippi law would allow. There are no assault & battery charges- it all falls under simple assault in MS. It only moves up when extreme circumstances are involved and if the owner was released then the other elements of the crime probably were not there. As far as other charges, the store owner will have to be the one to file charges if the crime is a misd. since it did not happen in front of police.

Last time I checked my deductible was 2500.00 not 1000.00. Are they talking about the same health care the rest of the city employees have?

Grant writers can be paid from the grant if the grant is written as such. My step-mother has written grants for various agencies and has the commission worked up in the grant to pay for her service of writing the grant.

First the police dept has to get the newest version (made by the same company) of the software before the two can communicate. This would be a great improvement, but no one knows where the money can come from. The city pd is way past due for an upgrade. They are working with the old version of the software of which the SO is getting the newer version. PD's version is still green screen.

I think it is too dry for fireworks. It is not just where the fireworks are launched but also where they land. The water hose wont always reach that far.

56,000 divided by 10.00 increase is 5600 visits per year. 56000 divided by 350 employees 16 visits per year per family divided by 12 months is 1.3 visits per month. This is average. dont know why i was first thinking of 80k.

City employees currently pay close to 400/ month to put their family on the health plan with a 2500.00 deductible. Then you must add the gap plan to reduce the deductible to 500.00 which cost a family an additional 50-60/month. The 80,000 savings is not based on the number of employees but on the number of doctor visits. The city is self-insured with BC/BS as the plan administrator. 80,000 divided by 10.00 increase is 8,000 visits per year. 8,000 divided by 350 employees 22-23 visits per year per family divided by 12 months is 1.9 visits per month. This is average. Those with small children may need to go more often then those without and that is if they figured the average number of visits. I think the number is higher than the actual savings would be. 10 visits per family per year based on a 10.00 increase would only net a savings of 35,000.
And if you knew that the pay for your life line (dispatchers for police and fire) were only making as most city employees just above minimum wage you would not complain about their medical benefits.

Mr. hitchcock your information on the number of murders being the highest in 60+ years is incorrect. In 1994 the Natchez area (city limits) had 6 murders, since then the average per year has been 2 to 3 murders per year with some years reporting no murders. In fact if I can recall correctly we (natchez city limits) have had more deaths as a result of vehicle accidents since 1994 then we have had in murders for the same time period.
