Our deepest sympathy to Mary Ann's family - we are so sorry for your loss. The Hendersons and their family are some of the best people anyone could ever be fortunate enough to know. God Bless you all.

Lynyrd Skynyrd, the group, was actually from Jacksonville, Florida. Their song just ended up being an anthem which all the southerners can call their own. Unfortunately their Mississippi infamy stems from the plane crash that killed many of them in McComb in 1977.
Don't feel bad Julie. The Natchez hierarchical society has treated her own the same way forever. I'd be surprised if that ever changes. So, welcome to the club!

Newspapers and all other media tout the importance of freedom of the press and their duty to report. When they find fodder it is invigorating for them to stir the pot and increase their sales. Let's face it, a story on how cell phones are an important business tool is pretty dull comparatively to Binkey and his problems.
Freedom of the press and capitalism are alike in a couple of ways to me. They both are important foundations of our great American way of life and our true democracy. They truly are the best systems that we can live under. But when anything loses it's conscience; it's guide to how it's actions affect the innocent - it becomes a sociopath.
Unfortunately, media outlets also want to wash their hands of things they cause with a domino effect and the hurt they cause to the innocent ones surrounding their targets. It's easy to avoid libel and slander lawsuits with the way the words are printed but you can't deny that pain is caused to those who don't deserve it by the actions and inferences of the press.
Life isn't fair and we will never be able to keep from hurting the undeserving no matter what, but we should try to keep them in mind when we make decisions that will affect them.
A newspaper should be unbiased in these reports and not pick it up as an axe to grind.

I couldn't find it browsing the net either. Does he work from home or does he have a commercial kitchen somewhere?

She was probably talking about "The Ghosts of Mississippi" They were in Natchez for about a month and shot there and in the Woodville area. They rented most of the Ramada for production offices and rooming for the crew and some actors. The big names stayed in local B&Bs.

Too many people have expected "the village" to raise their kids instead of doing it themselves. That is the problem.

Good job Natchez Democrat. You recognize with the blog feature and the Letter to the Editor that most of your readers are smart enough to discern fact from fiction and can have their own opinion whether it is popular and nice - or in some cases, uptight, bossy and downright nasty......There are lots of things, good and bad, that need to be said about Natchez. Now everyone will have their chance. Thanks!

That's the ticket! Let's put lawmakers in the same situations as regular people and see how they like it. The rules will change if affects them personally.
