Honestly, I don't know who started the fight because I was talking on the phone (thank goodness), but I'm glad the game...and the event ended when it did because it was dreadful. I always said if Ferriday and Natchez played each other in football, I'd be there. It was very disappointing. First, I thought the game was going to start at 8. I had to sit thru an hour of Block and Wilkinson...not an easy thing to do. Then when I think the main event is about to start, Natchez decides to introduce their entire 150 man roster, the cheerleaders, the drill team, the "state winning" power lifting team...it was ridiculous. Save that before the beginning of your first home game, or do it before the Red River Classic begins. It was after 9 PM!
Once the game FINALLY started, I wished I had went to the gym to work out instead. I'm not expecting FHS to go 10-0 this year, but we looked dreadful. The stands cleared out early, and honestly, I'm glad the game ended early. I couldn't sit through another hour of a non-competitive scrimmage.
I'd like an annual contest between Ferriday and Natchez, preferrably during the season. I don't mind an annual Red River Classic either, but please cut it to about 30 plays per team, start games when you advertise they will start and don't introduce your entire student body! Nobody wants to be at a scrimmage til 12:00 AM!
