Thanks Swapmeet.

Yes we should enjoy the benefits
of crack (a.k.a. cocaine) and heroin
in MODERATION.

Here is one way which most would
agree is proper:

"Crack" (derivative of cocaine) and heroin are
given to us by the Lord.
Cocaine is used as an anesthetic
in many medical procedures.
Heroin is used in CIVILIZED
countries to ease the pain of terminal cancer.

The Lord designed our bodies with receptors
which allow cocaine and heroin to work in fighting pain.

Again IN MODERATION ! Problem comes when people use God's gifts inappropriately.

Gluttony comes to mind. Food is a gift from God. Problem comes with eating TOO MUCH
and is called GLUTTONY.

I would not ask you to take spiritual advice
from me. But I do question why YOU make assumptions about the "lostness" of others?

As for "vulgar" language, please be
VERY careful what you want to censor.

"Dammit" is used OFTEN in Bible
utilizing the King James Version favoured
by fundaMENTALists.

Ditto for "hell" which is used quite often
by the Lord Jesus Christ ( Please see passages
in RED ink in some Bibles)

Since you seem to be "into" preaching
and discussing others' "lostness" perhaps
you can enlighten us all.

Please give us YOUR expounded theological
opinion of the following passages containing
"vulgar" (your version anyway) words:

Dueteronomoy 23:2
Zecheriah 9:6
Hebrews 12:8
2 Kings 9:8
2 Peter 2: 1, 3
John 5:29
1 Samuel 25:22
I Kings 14:10
Malachi 2:3
Philip 3:8

So Swapmeet the question remains:
Is GLUTTONY a sin ?

:)

P-L-E-A-S-E !!!!!

The Lord Jesus made WINE and it was GOOD wine. He remedied a catering "faux pas" for a young couple in Canaan.

Please also note that He made a LOT of wine at said event. Jesus Christ appreciated QUALITY as well as QUANTITY.

Isn't GLUTTONY a sin?
Is GLUTTONY worse than drinking wine in moderation?

Alcohol in ALL forms (wine, Scotch, marguritas, etc.) are
gifts from the Lord to be used in MODERATION.

Wonder if the fundaMENTALists who are so wine-o-phobic
truly regard GLUTTONY as a sin?

Isn't sin sin?

If so, quit whining about wine/alcohol and push those fat butts/guts away from the table.

Jesus came to save our souls, not to
remove our brains. Please act like it.

Thank you for your support.

Neil Young ?
REAL Southern men don't need him around anyhow....:)

Glad that Mr. Young is so "concerned" about Southern problems
since there is NO racism up north.

Why don't we all just listen to "Rednecks" by Randy Newman
and discover the REALITY of northern racism before anyone
begins asking for Mr. Young to make an appearance ?

That being said (typed? whatever...lol) I DO appreciate Mr.
Young's efforts to help handicapped children with the
Bridge School in San Francisco for children with learning
disabilities.

Bad politics but good intentions = guess Mr. Young is "okay"
overall. But leave this "Southern Man" alone....or else....lol.

But before anyone tries to remove "splinters" form the Confederacy,
PLEASE get the north's TELEPHONE POLES entirely removed.

Amen Bobcat ! Excellent posting !

Will a list of items this family needs be published somewhere?
Maybe the Democrat would follow up in a few days and keep us
informed of progress toward helping the family.

Would be nice for our community to come together to help them rebuild their lives after this tragedy.

Kudos to the VPD and the civilian gentleman who helped fight the fire !

Nattering nabobs of negativity seem to rule the discussion forums
of this paper way too often and particularly in this case !

Wonder if these negativites have actually read the articles sometimes.

How can a sub-kindergarden comprehension level get so twisted?

Also, for the record, these are comments are not "blogging" and those
commenting are not "bloggers".

Bloggers actually think out and sometimes post thoughtful commentary in a "blog".

This is a discussion forum. Big difference. Duh.

Wonder why these comments are so negative so often ?
Could it be that those commenting so
often and so negatively
have nothing better to do in
their sad, pitiful lives?

Just a thought or two....:)

Wonder when/if the Churches in the Miss-Lou will begin preaching against the sin of GLUTTONY like they do the (sic) "sin" of alcohol?

Not holding my breath (or waistline for that matter....lol).

Seriously,
isn't GLUTTONY a terrible sin? Especially in our country while most of the world goes to bed HUNGRY each night....

Just putting it up there for consideration.....:)

Good article Ben. Enjoyed it !

Am reminded of a quote attributed to Napoleon
(Bonaparte, not Dynamite...lol),

"What is history but a fable agreed upon?"

There is a lot of history in Natchez and
also a lot of "fables". The fun part is trying
to separate the two.

Again, good article.
Keep up the good work !
