ACEDOG that is such a stupid response, all of a sudden Steve is behind this and his brother will take over. So let me get this straight, Steve calls the AD, I want the staff fired and my brother to be the next coach. I have money and I'm going to tell you what to do. That is the most none thought out statement that a person could make.

For your information I'am an Alum and have known Coach West since his days at Texas Southern playing for Bob Moreland. Further he played CC ball with a classmate of mines at CL. An alum or not, I can still speak my opinion. Again, we need to move forward and quit living in the past. I like Coach West and he had his chance; the same opportunity the new coach will have.

You Natchea folks get over it; it did not work out for Coach West so we need to move forward. As Bum Phillips once said, there are two types of coaches, one that is fired and the other waiting to get fired. If yall think 44 - 150 is a good thing then WOW what a joke.

As Bum Phillips would say, "There are two types of coaches, one that has been fired and one that is about to be fired." It comes with the profession.

Need some D-1 transfers and JC to help immediately and build for the future. Turner is a good one. I do believe after this year Coach Jones and his staff will start reeling the players back. Having an AD will go a lomg way.

The new schedule is a lot different. I can't recall in history that we played MVSU and SU so early in the season.

Rapheal in all honesty I have no knowledge regarding inside information regarding the university. Like any other company there needs to be a change if you are going to move fiuther. The campus is beautiful, dorms need a lot of work but good things can happen there with the right people in place. Good example look at the website for sports its hardly ever up to date because in my opinion the person responsible has no knowledge on htm applications or does not have experience as an SID. However someone there liked them and put them in that position. I attended the university when we were on top in all sports, even track there were Olympic Gold medal winners there when i attended. However, the same administrators are still there and they are resistent to change and that is not good. Look at the average tenure of the leadership, they have been at ASU all their lives and know nothing else outside of Lorman. The world is a lot larger and we are being passed by, even with the likes of valley. They are more progressive at this stage.

Folks I know many of you will not like this statement but don't dismiss former Coach JT as AD. In my opinion he may be a great administrator as compared to being coach. While he may not have produced on the field, things that effected his program he will not let those outside forces effect the new coaches program. He knows what needs to be done to produce a very good program; he did not have a lot of support from the powers to be because he was so much like Coach Casem and the people that were there when Coach Casem was there are now taking this as an opportunity to run things because they were scared of Coach Casem. Regardness what you might think about him (JT)as a coach, he bleeds purple and gold and that is what you want in an AD. Believe me he wants ASU to suceed and thats the bottom line. And as far as womens basketball hire Freda Craft.

Raphael the AD is generally the administrator of the athletic department and has the responsibility for all the hiring and firing. However, the President in most cases will approve the hiring of the coach based on the recommendations of the AD. I agree with you that we need a change in all the major sportsd which includes basketball (hire Larry Smith) and baseball as well. There is too much nepotism at ASU and re-cycling of leadership. Thats is one of the reasons we have lost alumni support. Remember Managers hang on and Leaders let go; there are too many managers at ASU.
