Thanks to all my coworkers at Promise Hospital of The Miss-Lou. As an employee I can say I am very proud to be part of this unique team of health care providers that feel more like family than mere co-workers. Was very impressed with how everyone responded during Gustav, especially when I came on duty and walked past our CEO'S office and saw a mat & sleeping bag that he weathered the storm in for 2 days so his employees could have what few available beds left within the facility. And he didn't stop there -----even sent out for food in Winnsboro ( the closest store open) for food for his employees. Patients continued to receive quality care without delay. Not only was there a full crew at work but calls from employees scheduled off that were willing to come in at a moments notice. The mood and interactions between patients and employees showed me that people can still come together in times of crises. What could have been a bad experience -- instead turned out to be rewarding experience that was heart felt and made me even prouder to be a part of The Promise Team.

So refreshing to have human interest articles . Very good read. Please keep us posted and the best of luck to Mr.Carter. I think what he is doing is wonderful and very heart felt. It is so nice to read about a young man doing something challenging and honorable . Very impressive.

SAD...... "The I have a dream speech " was one of the most heart felt that was written, I feel it has been taken out of context . Don't think the words "we shall over come" meant to overcome the white race and conquer . Think it meant to stand hand and hand, love one another and be equal, overcome the adversities during that era. I think its so sad that neither race can achieve something so simple, and that his followers /leaders can't get it right. Sad to know neither race will ever heal. We need black and white leaders that can get the message right....its so sad that everything turns into a race issue and always will.......wish we could just stop hating, but we never will with NAACP, BET, etc,, that purposely separate races.

Good luck Tiffany Lloyd! You may have a future, please don't pattern yourself in the likes of Allen, Mr. Harris would bea more appropriate role model.

Mr. Harris, very refreshing to hear someone didnt fall into the trap of small town politics. Impressive to see someone that has morals & values and does the right thing ---knowing they will be retaliated against. i live in vidalia and cant vote in Ferriday--- but sure can put the word of mouth out there .. impressive-- you have my respect so far
