Why is it that some folks around here are so talented at pointing out failures yet they do not offer answers to problems our community has? If you live in Natchez ,you as a responsible citizen should try to make it a better place for you and your family and neighbors to live in. This is everyone's home and it's everyone's responsibility. What I see is folks sitting around hollaring"somebody ought to do something". And hardly anyone is getting up and doing it. Get active Natchez! If you actually give a darn, show it.

For crying out loud! Please will the city allow businesses to advertise and attempt to survive in this economy. Why must the city concentrate on things that will not benefit the community? Come on now. Please city administrators give us a break.

I liked this article. I never knew the story behind the elephant thingy. Thanks Democrat. I agree, it is pleasant to have something on a positive nature once in a while.

Exuse me OldGrandDad,
First of all, we are under the "weak mayor system" (no offense to our mayor). The voters are the ones who need to"step up " to the booth and put some competent aldermen in there who will do their jobs and quit using worn out excuses.

This quote makes just as much sense today as when it was originally said.
A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.

I've toured the sight also and was very impressed with the facility and warden. Both are a good plus for Natchez. We need to be grateful for the positive things in life instead of pointing out the negative. Life is what you make of it.

Since it is the newspaper's job to inform us "why about something". Please find out why the governor banned the cameras.
