redusmfan you are right. racism is racism but typically where we live when that word is used it's referring to a white person being racist against a black person so that is why i used that term. I refuse to allow my children to be pulled into the racist way of life. i teach them to judge all people by the person they are and not to look at their skin color or any other physical or mental difference. But in the area that we live we never hear about a racist minority. it is always the white person/people that we hear about and i know that there are racist people in our community that are not white. That's all that i was trying to say.

It is amazing to me how race is brought into just about everything. If a white man or woman running against a black man or woman wins then it is due to racism but if the black man or woman wins then the racial gaps are closing. I am so tired of seeing this bull. Jake is just as qualified as Phillip to run this city. I did vote for Jake but it was not due to the color of his skin. I did not vote for Phillip b/c there has been a bad taste in my mouth for him for years. He has handled more than one issue inappropriately in the past. I don't care if they are purple as long as they do the best job for Natchez.

Imagine that nonpayment is an issue with NRMC. Quorum will get payment one way or another which if there was a contract then it is due to them and whether they did a good job or not is not the issue. It would be nice if for once someone would buy NRMC that would pay taxes to Adams County instead of the taxpayers paying for everything. Think what that kind of tax base would do for Adams County.

your probably right DahlingILuv. i have a family member that does insurance billing and she figures that they also have a problem with getting the bills out to the insurance companies which must be done to collect money. if that is the case then the audit would need to go much deeper than just the board and their attorney but to look at every level of business at nrmc. the bankruptcy will help for a little while but if they do not change practices then they will be in the same shape soon enough. i also have a family member who used to work at nrmc and one at nch. nrmc tends to lay people off or cut pay most recently where nch would cut hours when it was slow to make up the difference through the year. i am sure that nch has laid off before in the past. what employer has not had to make that tough decision in the past but i would much rather get my hours cut then to be laid off or to take a pay cut all together. my heart goes out to the employees at nrmc especially the ones that are nearing retirment.

nch pays near and maybe over 400,000 a year and if i remember correctly since ip is gone it is one of the 3 largest tax payers in the county. wonder if any of that money goes to help nrmc?
