Which is more noticeable? A property 10 blocks from Main St. or one that abuts the Convention Center? Seems to mee we have heard nothing but bs about the 300 block of Franklin street. To say the least this is an eyesore.
Btw preservationists, where are you ? The first newspaper in this area was printed on this lot. Also , for many years Aunt Nellie met cabdrivers here to pay them for customers brought to her place. That alone is cause for a tremendous historical monument.
Seems to me the ownner of this property shoulld either do something about its appearance or quit talking about the old FBC, Arlington and one lone houseway out on MLK.
Time for the ND to put up or shut up/

I seem to remember that most of Natchez went down to the Celebration of Life that summer. Hells Angels were security there too. Just look how wonderfully we turned out. Of course I realize that no rules apply to Natchezians as they do mere mortals . Actually, professor, I quite enjoyed it ,and have managed to make 76 years with only minimal damage.

I heard the boy king mayor of Natchez say at many alderman meetings in the sixties ans early 70s that Natchez neither wanted nor needed smokestack industries . Took a long time , but it came to pass as the good book says .

Actually the pavillion om Maple STREET was used as a bus stop for the old city bus lines till their buses were taken out during the sixties . There are many people alive who used that pavillion. Maple St being only half a block from the Democrat, how could thery know it's no avenue?

Wonder why the preservationists have nothing to say about the property at Franklin and Wall Streets? I know favoritism can't be rearing its ugly head.
My co mpliments to the ladies for okaying that colorful bathtub at Fat Mama's.Finally we see something useful.

here is the solution for this property that should bring untold joy to preservationists,.Instead of the RV park restore Lum Bros stockyards in all its glory to its homeplace,Nothing could remind us old time residents of this area of Natchez past like the smell of Lum Bros on Thursday night. Aah how sweer it was !!!

Some things never change in Natchez. One thing being the relationship between Tony and the Democrat. that relationship is as strong today as it was in ther 70s , when the Democrat was led by theduo of Warren Koon and the former Martha Ann Hamilton. Back in those days the mayor was fond of saying "Natchez neither needs nor wants smokestacx industry". the good former mayor got his wesh. The only problem is that the money left with those indfustries. If we couldn't afford recreation at that time, where is the money coming from now?
On It’s our turn to create recreation
