Hmmmm, I'm a Chamber member and I was not polled. Am I right in understanding this went out via email to all members? Or was the survey a ramdom sampling?

Thank you, Greg, for being so completely honest and having the courage to speak so frankly. I totally agree with you. We have so many wonderful resources and potential that we are not utilizing to the best advantage. And I, too, agree that major obsticles are color and maybe just a little too much pride in something that is no longer.
We do not have a hi-tech work force here and to constantly put all our economic eggs in that basket just doesn't seem to make too much sense.
Congratulations to last night's winners.

What a wonderful honor for Charm and for our community!
We are so fortunate to have an educator of Charm's quality dedicated to our children and to our public school system.
Thank you Charm!

Thank you Mr. Tucker. You have left an indelible foot print and I am so grateful and proud you are an American! God Bless.

Amanda, I applaud you for speaking your convictions. Whereby your "researach" may be lacking in some areas, I still agree with you. Yes, I understand the horse is a work creature and all of that but I think working in a pastoral environment is different from "working" on a hot paved street enclosed by buildings. Years ago one of the carriage owners had a beautiful young horse. We would see him in the pen on Briel Street (hoof deep in mud) where he would be running at breakneck speed towards the fence where he would be forced to stop. It wasn't too long before we observed that that once highly energetic animal was turning into a slow, head hung low, carraige puller. Maybe these business owners could switch to a rickshaw.

Touche'. Very good counter points and questions. After further thought, it would have been informative to know what other options were considered: the pros, cons, etc.
However, I do contend that our citizens deserve quality and if providing that means painful changes, then so be it.
But guess there is no way around the fact that our local healthcare needs a lot of fixing. Greed, lust for power, control and decisions made on "what's the other hospital doing and buying?" by both local facilities have shared the driver's seat for way too long. It's our community that is the loser here.

I say, "Thank you" to our local law enforcement officers. For the guys from Jonesville, stay on your side of the river and in your town if you want to be publicly drunk and in a fighting mood. Do hope the injured parties recover, but still think it appears they all were in the wrong. I support our law enforcement in this matter. (and of course the family is going to yell, "brutality". Isn't the best offense a defense or however the saying goes?)

To ratherbefishing and geauxtigers: thank you for your voices of reason! It appears that LOVESNATCHEZ is letting emotion overrule any sense of reason and objectivity in this matter. Re "old doctors" not encouraging the recruitment of new physicians: LOVESNATCHEZ needs to understand that this culture was in place 30 years ago. Dr. Stubbs-and no, he is not my physician-is a dedicated physician who is interested in the welfare of our local healthcare. If this move can improve just one aspect of healthcare delivery as well as the speed and ACCURACY of these results, isn't that the important thing? If the local rad. group's service had kept up with the need we would not even be discussing the matter. And, I rather doubt that Dr. Stubbs would be acting independently of other local physicians who most likely have input into the decision.

For those who have not yet been to the polls, PLEASE go and PLEASE VOTE for Chuch Mayfield. Chuck is truly committed to serving Adams County as a good, balanced, professional law officer...AND he is NOT attached to special interest and obligation. His humility-which another candidate certainly does not have-is a significant trait; it tells me that his judgments and actions are thoughtfully based on fact, fairness and experience and not influenced by ego or need to "show whose boss". Also, look at his campaign with much fewer $$$$$ than some other candidates. It just isn't rocket science. Vote for Chuck!
