An Adams&160;County Sheriff’s deputy got a rare look at crime Sunday evening.
While doing a routine follow-up, deputy Ray Brown witnessed four suspects take part in a drive-by-shooting on U.S. 61 South near Sibley. No one was injured in the shooting.
&uot; That’s a rarity that probably you’ll never see repeated,&uot; said Adams&160;County Sheriff Ferrell.
The deputy said he saw two shots fired from a .22 automatic rifle but the residents think more shots were fired,&uot; Ferrell said.
The sheriff’s department arrested three suspects in connection with the shooing. They were being held at the Adams&160;County Jail Monday.
Robert A. Carmen, 26, 1 Lake Montrose was being held on a $50,500 bond, Edward Williams Scott, 37, 53 Lake Montrose was being held on a $25,000 bond and Sarah N. Carmen 49, 53 Lake Montrose was being held on a $5,000 bond.
A fourth suspect Charles Gerald, 54, 9 Case St. has also been charged by the county, but is being held at the Natchez City Jail because of an existing warrant by the city for a charge of false pretense. He owes the police department $2,411.80 plus 85 days.
The shooting took place around 8:15 p.m. at a trailer at 975 U.S. 61 South.
Because of an earlier argument, the victims reported to the sheriff’s department that a 1988 Nissan Sentra tried to run them off the road.
The deputy returned to the scene about 30 minutes later and saw the car at the scene with its lights turned off, Ferrell said.
He then saw one of the suspects pull out the rifle and shoot at the trailer at a distance of a few hundred yards, Ferrell added.
No one was injured in the shooting.
