Cathedral golf squad finishes third

Cathedral High’s golf team finished in third place with a two-day total of 685 at the Class 2A State Tournament Wednesday at the Forest Country Club in Forest.
Christopher Martin had an 80, Mark Carter an 81, Wyler Murray an 86, Tyler Crisp a 93 and Josh Ford a 98. Cathedral won the 1A title last year.
Martin was named to the All-State Team as the 3rd Medalist with a two-day score of 158.
St. John won the state title for the fourth year in a row with a two-day score of 667 and Clarkdale was second with a 671.
&uot;St John did a good job both days,&uot; said Cathedral coach Terry Moffett. &uot;When we got behind on the first day it was too much for us to make up.&uot;
