Officials performed tests Tuesday to determine whether to raise the fire rating for Concordia Parish Fire District No. 1 from 8 to 6. Above, Warren James (foreground) keeps his eyes on pressure gauges as Jeremy Charpentier and Howard Byers use a quick dump valve to release the water from the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility pond into a dump tank. About 800-850 gallons per minute were used throughout the testing. Jackie Cowan and Phillip Doucas (far right) help in the two-hour process of water tests on the lawn of Concordia Farmers Gin. Officials from the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana were also on hand to check training records, facilities and equipment.
