With simple acts of prayer, Laura Holloway shared the love of God with the people of Bolivia.

Last fall, Holloway, a recent Adams County Christian School graduate, spent five days in the country’s villages &uot;prayer walking&uot; among the people.

&uot;It definitely gives you a peace to know that God is so awesome,&uot; said Holloway, a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez. &uot;You could feel his presence (in Bolivia.)&uot;

To do the prayer walk, Holloway’s mission team divided into pairs. Each pair was given a booklet of prayer topics.

Some of the topics included praying for the children, the men of the village households or the women, Holloway said. Then the team members walked through the villages, praying as they walked, she said.

Although the people spoke a different language, Holloway said the Bolivians were friendly and open to the mission team’s presence in the villages.

&uot;I think (the Bolivians) seeing us there knowing what we’re doing helped them – uplifted them,&uot; she said. &uot;Prayer definitely helps.&uot;

The mission team also spent five days in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, teaching Bible school to missionary children.

&uot;It was such a learning experience,&uot; Holloway said of the trip. &uot;It’s awesome to see how some other people live&uot; and to learn their history.

Holloway graduated from ACCS this year with honors and will attend Mississippi State University in the fall. She is taking summer classes at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez and working at the office of Dr. J.H. Fairbanks. She is the daughter of Gary and Tawana Holloway.
