Natchez BMX board member James Watts already knows this weekend’s race will be a success
Watts, whose grandson Josh will also be racing this weekend, said this particular race has been going for as long as he can remember.
&uot;I can’t remember the last time we didn’t have a race where the proceeds went to the Leukemia Foundation,&uot; he said.
&uot; It’s just such a good cause, that we would like to encourage as many people to come out as possible,&uot;&160;he said.
Watts said the race will begin at 7 p.m., and last until about 9 p.m., at the BMX&160;Track at the end of Palestine Road.
&uot; We’ve got kids as young as 6 years old, and men as old as 46 years old, so it’s a very diverse group of riders,&uot;&160;Watts said of the cyclists participating in the Race for Life.
Watts also pointed out that the Mississippi State Qualifying Race will be at the BMX&160;Track in Natchez on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
&uot; This weekend’s going to be real big for most of the riders around Mississippi,&uot;&160;Watts said.
There is no admission fee into the Race for Life, however the minimum donation for the cyclists is $5.
