VIDALIA, La. – Mac Ware has had a share of bad luck that should last him a lifetime.

For the past two years, Ware, a 14-year old baseball player from Vidalia, and he has been forced to watch his all-star teammates from the bleachers.

As a 13-year old all-star, Ware was riding his four-wheeler the day before the first all-star game, and ran into a bit of trouble.

&uot;I was riding real slow down the side of a hill, and a root caught my foot, and it broke my ankle,&uot;&160;Ware said.

While he was down about the ordeal, Ware said he had support from friends and family alike, which helped get him through the rest of the summer.

However, just when he thought he was going to be able to play some injury-free baseball, he was in for more bad luck.

&uot;Three weeks before the season started this year I&160;broke a bone in my hand, so I&160;had to play the first two games with one hand,&uot;&160;Ware said.

Ware was forced to undergo surgery which required three pins in his hand.

Ware said he was able to play the next seven games without injury and pain, but in the third-to-last game, the injury bug bit him once again.

&uot;I was pitching, and felt a pop in my elbow,&uot; he said. &uot;I&160;tried to go sit down in the dugout and wait out the pain, but after a few days the pain was still there.&uot;&160;

Ware ended up having to see a doctor, who ordered him to undergo season-ending surgery on his pitching elbow.

&uot;I was really disappointed when that happened. I&160;was having a good year, and I was looking forward to playing with the all-star team this year, but I got hurt,&uot; he said.

Ware, who will be a freshman at Vidalia High School this fall, said that he hopes his bad luck on the baseball field has come to an end.

&uot;As soon as I get well, I’m just going to work real hard to make it strong, so it doesn’t happen again,&uot;&160;Ware said.
