A former Adams County resident charged with murdering his wife with a drug injection, will appear in Justice Court at 1 p.m., Tuesday to conclude his preliminary hearing.
Deputies arrested James Pecanty, in April after investigating the March 9th death of Margaret Merrylon Baker Pecanty, 28.
Pecanty attended the first part of his prelimary hearing in June but one of the witness could not be present.
The court decided to hold the rest of the hearing in August.
Deputies believes Pecanty injected his wife with prescription medications that had been melted down.
After Margaret Pecanty’s death, James Pecanty, who has family in Monterey, La., moved to live near family in Union Church, Ark.
Pecanty is out on bond and restricted to only Adams County and Concordia Parish, said Justice Court Judge Charles Vess.
After the hearing, Vess will decided whether to send the case before the Adams County Grand Jury for where a possible indictment may be handed down.
