Huntington outscored Tallulah 23-7 in the third quarter and held on for the win.

Emily Hazlip led Huntington with 18 points, and Lindsay Paul added 12, most of the points coming in the third quarter. Kathleen Elders came off the bench to score 10 points.

Audrey Hopkins led Tallulah with 16 points.

&uot;It seems like it took us a while to get going tonight,&uot; Moak said. &uot;They had exams this week. I guess they were just worn out.&uot;

In the boys game, Tallulah’s Derrick Busby and Johnathan Williams combined for 27 points in the Hounds’ loss.

&uot;I put a lot of emphasis on stopping two of their better players,&uot; Hounds’ coach Paul Glynn said. &uot;In doing that, we left some of their other guys with open looks. I took a gamble and I gambled wrong.&uot;

Wyatt Kemp led the Hounds (7-8) with 13 points, and Randy Hinson, Josh Johns and Jordan Owens each added nine.

&uot;We were more intense than we’ve been being,&uot; Glynn said. &uot;The kids did everything I asked them to do.&uot;

Both Huntington teams play next at the Brookhaven Tournament on Dec. 27.
