The Parklane Academy Lady Pioneers jumped out to a huge halftime lead and held on to defeat the Adams County Christian Lady Rebels 46-35 Friday at the ACCS Rebel Gym.

Brooke Currier led&160;Parklane (10-5) with 13 points, including three three-pointers. Lucy Savorgnan added 10 points, including two three-pointers.

The first half belonged to the Lady Pioneers as they held the Lady Rebels to seven points in the first quarter and only two points in the second quarter to take a 22-point halftime lead.

ACCS (6-11) tried its best to come back in the second half.

The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Pioneers 15-8 in the third quarter and 11-7 in the fourth quarter, but the rally came up short.

&uot;They came back and played well in the second half,&uot; said Lady Rebels head coach Bruce Pickle.

Free-throw shooting also did in the Lady Rebels as they were a dismal 3-for-12 at the line.

&uot;Three of twelve is not very good,&uot; Pickle said.

The majority of the Lady Rebels team scored, but few players amassed any number of points.

Brandi Case led the Lady Rebels with six points and Jessica Jackson and Kittye Marks each had five points.

In the junior varsity girls game, Parklane defeated ACCS 38-32.

Michelle Cochran led Parklane with 23 points. Anna McLemore led ACCS with 12 points.

ACCS’ varsity girls team next plays at Wilkinson County Christian Academy at 6 p.m. on Jan. 5.
