Onlookers braved a cold December day to attend the official groundbreaking of the much-debated downtown convention center in Natchez. The project proved to be a crucial one this year, playing a pivotal role in city election debates and, finally, coming to fruition with aldermen’s push to award contracts and, finally, break ground.
