FERRIDAY, La. – A Sunday night fire that caused slight roof damage to a Haphazard Road home is being investigated as a possible arson, a local fire official said Monday.
Firefighters were called at 10:48 p.m. to a fire at the home of Don Paige, said Nolen Cothren, chief of Concordia Fire District No. 2.
It appeared that someone had poured a small amount of accelerant at the base of the house and had thrown the rest onto the house’s roof, Cothren said. The roof caught fire but was only slightly damaged, and no one was injured. Cothren said he plans to discuss the case with Sheriff’s Office officials today.
