Charles E. Davis

Sept. 8, 1942 – Jan. 29, 2001

Services for Charles E. Davis, 58, of Chicago, who died Monday,

Jan. 29, 2001 in Chicago, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Greater

Mount Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. James C. Anderson officiating.

Burial will be in the Selstown Cemetery under the direction

of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and

from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mr. Davis was born Sept. 8, 1942, the son of Rev. Alonzo Irving

and Bernice Thomas.

He was employed with Acme Barrell Company in Chicago and was

a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie Lee Davis of Chicago; his

father, Rev. Alonzo Irving of Natchez; one son, Charles E. Davis

Jr.; one stepson, Bobby Ray Thomas; three daughters, Sharon Davis

and Jennifer Davis of Natchez and Lyvonne Patrick of Natchez;

five brothers, Luther Thomas of Chicago, Charles Beamer, Walter

Lee Thomas, Richard Thomas and Larry Thomas, all of Natchez; seven

sisters, Joanne Bindon, Barbara Thomas, Mary Ann Irving, Marie

Davis, Ivy Davis, Jessie Dorsey and Etta R. Irving, all of Natchez;

seven grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; and a number of

nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Steven Thomas, Virgil Gibbs, Calvin Hammett,

Charles Davis, Joseph Washington and Ben Moore.

Wetter Williams

Dec. 31, 1942 – Feb. 1. 2001

MEADVILLE – Services for Wetter Williams, 58, of Meadville,

who died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Natchez Regional Hospital

in Natchez, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at Mt. Sinai

Missionary Baptist Church in Meadville, with the Rev. Ernest Carter

officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Fork Cemetery in Meadville under

the direction of Tyler Funeral Home in Brookhaven.

Visitation is from noon until 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2001,

at Tyler Funeral Home in Brookhaven.

Williams was born Dec. 31, 1948, in Franklin County, the daughter

of L.C. Williams Sr. and Jessie Mae Bee Williams.

She was a homemaker who served on the mothers board at Mount

Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Meadville, where she was a

member.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leroy

Williams, Claude Williams and Elijah Williams; and three sisters,

Massie Jones, Argree Harris and Margaret Williams.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Williams of Roxie and Andrew

Williams of Meadville; three daughters, Joyce Williams, Jessie

King and Laura Nell Houston, all of Meadville; four brothers,

Roy Williams of Roxie, the Rev. L.C. Williams of Meadville, Charlie

Campbell of Roxie and Alton Covington of Meadville; six sisters,

Wilhelminia Harris, Betty Ford and Clara Starks, all of Meadville,

Alice Jackson and Dorothy Campbell, both of Roxie, and Bertha

Summerville of Chicago; 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren

and a host of nieces and nephews.

James C. Bonds

Oct. 14, 1960 – Jan. 31, 2001

HAMBURG – Graveside services for James Calvin Bonds, 40, of

Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in Natchez, will be

at 2:30 p.m. today at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hamburg with Lt.

Bobby Westmoreland officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Bonds was born Oct. 14, 1960, in Natchez, the son of William

and Mary Eugenia Callender Bonds.

He was a lifelong resident of Natchez and attended Natchez

public schools.

Mr. Bonds was preceded in death by his father; a stepfather,

Cecil James Callender; one brother, William Earl Bonds; and a

stepbrother, Cecil Ray Callender.

Survivors include his mother, Jean Callender of Tunica, La.;

a wife, Bobbie Ann Cavin Bonds of Natchez; three sisters, Patricia

Scott of Centreville, Ruby Louise Carman of Natchez and Elizabeth

Callender of Gloster; two brothers, James S. Callender of Houma,

La., and Johnny Edward Callender of Gloster; two nephews, three

nieces and one greatnephew.

Pallbearers will be Carl Ray Craven, Wilbern J. Blades, William

V. Bonds Sr., Robert C. Smith, George E. Duck and Scott Morgan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Ray Smith and Tommy Smith.
