After seven holes of play in Sunday’s final round of the 2001 Pilgrimage Four Ball at Beau Pr\u00E9 Country Club, Grady Brame and Tom Bryant were at one-over-par and trailing by one shot to Glen Roscoe and Dale Cagnolatti.

They were more than able to make up the deficit as the pair scorched the back nine to win the two-day event.

&uot;Tom birdied five straight holes (8 through 12),&uot; Brame said. &uot;We figured between the two of us, one was going to start playing, and that’s what happened.&uot;

Brame and Bryant also birdied 17 and 18 to seal the win and the championship. The winning team’s 66 on Sunday and the runner-up’s 69 were two of only six rounds in the 60s on the final day. P.Z. Brewer and Bo Lovitt shot a bogey-free 68 on Sunday to win the first flight with a two-day total of 138.

&uot;We hit every green. We left four or five birdies out there,&uot; Brewer said. &uot;It was one of those fun rounds.&uot;

Lane Feltus and Mike Atkeison shot a final-round 71 to win the second flight with a two-day score of 143.

Bubba Kaiser and Paul Guido had a 68 on Sunday to claim first place in the third flight with a two-day total of 142.

&uot;Bubba made some good birdies, and I just rode along,&uot; Guido said.

Joel Dupre and Keith Dallalio fired a final-round 74 to win the fourth flight with a total of 150.

&uot;It was tough to score,&uot; Dupre said. &uot;We just tried to stay in the hole and make pars.&uot;

&uot;We made a couple of putts at the end that really saved our round,&uot; Dallalio said.

Lewis Lauve and John Doggett had a three-under-par 69 to move up from the fifth flight to the championship flight and finished with a two-day total of 148.

&uot;We hit the ball real well. We just didn’t make any putts,&uot; Doggett said. &uot;I had a chance to make a double-eagle on 18, but the ball stopped about six inches from the hole.&uot;

Led by an eagle on the par-4 14th hole, Bart Jones and Larry Hill had a 72 to win the fifth flight with a two-day score of 151.

Of the eagle on 14, Hill said,&160;&uot;We had a swell in the green. Where we were, we couldn’t tell if it went in the hole or on the back of the green.&uot;

The teams of James Williams and Stan Bryan and Ronnie Hewitt and Charles Jordan each had a final-round 74 to tie for first place in the sixth flight with a score of 155. Bill Campbell and Earl Hunt moved up from the seventh flight to the fourth flight after firing a 76 on Sunday, 10 shots better than their 86 on Saturday and finished at 162. Lucius Butts III and David Kelley won the seventh flight after shooting a 79 for a two-day score of 164.

&uot;It was a beautiful day for golf,&uot; Butts said. &uot;We got here just in time to make the first tee box.&uot;
