Willie L. Reed
Jan. 9, 1923 – April 10, 2001
ST. JOSEPH, La. – Services for Willie L. Reed, 78, of St. Joseph, who died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m., Monday, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in St. Joseph, with the Rev. Robert Lee Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in the Panola Cemetery, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Visitation is from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Reed was born Jan. 9, 1923, in St. Joseph, the son of Jessie Reed and Augustine Davis Reed.
He was a retired auto mechanic and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Pride of St. Joseph No. 59 Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eliza Reed.
Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Reed and Carolyn Reed, both of St. Joseph; one brother, Eugene Matthews of Los Angles; two sisters, Jennie M. Matthews of Los Angles and Mary I. Williams of Newellton, La.; one grandson, Jeremy Reed of St. Joseph; one cousin, Elzee Williams of St. Joseph; Hazel Britton of St. Joseph; and a number of other relatives.
Julia M. Maynard
July 25, 1921 – April 11, 2001
Services for Julia M. Maynard, 80, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m., Monday, at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Samuel Hines Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in the LaGrange Cemetery, under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.&160;The procession will leave Monday from the funeral home.
Mrs. Maynard was born July 25, 1921, in Newport, Ky., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Clemment.
She graduated from Bloom High School in Cincinnati, and was a retired dietician. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she was a member of the missionary society.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Reo H. Maynard and Doris Maynard of Natchez; one daughter, Estella Wilbert of Detroit; six grandchildren, Valerie Morrison and her husband Randy Morrison of Chesapeake, Va., Charelle Gordon of Cincinnati, Reo Maynard III of Chesapeake, Daryl Ware and his wife Nita Ware of Chicago, and Reggie Ware and his wife Nikki Ware of Birmingham, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Reggie Ware, Darryl Ware, Plevis Brown, Robert J. Ware, Larry Holmes and&160;Ronell Hooker.
