Vidalia Chamber tourney scheduled for Thursday

Maybe this time the weather will cooperate for the Vidalia Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble.

The tourney was originally scheduled for June 7 but had to be postponed due to heavy rain. It has been rescheduled for this Thursday at Duncan Park with a shotgun start scheduled for 1 p.m. Last year the field was full prior to the tourney, but rescheduling the event this year has left some openings according to Linda Gardner of the Vidalia chamber.

&uot;We have 18 teams, but some players have dropped out because of the date change,&uot; she said. &uot;If other golfers want to play they just need to call me and report their handicap.&uot;

The entry fee is $75 per golfer.

&uot;We are looking forward to having a lot of people playing golf on a beautiful day,&uot; Gardner said.
