Fire investigated as possible arson case

VIDALIA, La. – A fire that caused minor damage to a vacant house on Louisiana 131 south of Vidalia Wednesday night is being investigated as a possible arson case.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office was scheduled to investigate at the scene Thursday.
&uot;Someone set papers on fire on the second floor, but no one was home and it didn’t cause much damage,&uot;&160;said Chief Nolen Cothren of Concordia Fire District No. 2.
Someone who was considering buying the house saw smoke and called the department in time to contain the small blaze, Cothren said.
