FERRIDAY, La. – If you’re a Ferriday resident with a question for the Ferriday Police Department, you will soon have the chance to make your voice heard.

A meeting to be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Ferriday Police Department will give citizens a chance to voice questions, concerns or complaints.

One reason for the meeting is to give residents an opportunity to get answers directly from Police Chief Bobby Sheppard.

Sheppard said the forum could also help make him more aware about problems that need the department’s attention.

And through such meetings, department personnel and citizens could work together to come up with creative ways to prevent crime, he said.

&uot;This way, we can make sure people receive the right information,&uot;&160;Sheppard said on Monday.

&uot;And hopefully, this will bring the community and the Police Department closer together,&uot; he said. &uot;Because the closer we are, the better.&uot;

If the Community Leaders Meeting goes well, such forums could be held on a more regular basis, Sheppard said.
