FERRIDAY &045; Mark your calendars and mark a spot on your arm for the phlebotomist to stick the needle in, because the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office is holding another blood drive Thursday.
LifeShare Blood Centers of Alexandria will be at the Concordia Parish Community Center on La. 15 in Ferriday from 2 to 6 p.m. to take donations.
During the sheriff’s office’s last drive in August, 28 people donated. The goal is double that this time around.
&uot;We’re hoping to hit the 50 mark during the holiday season,&uot; Spokeswoman Kathleen Stevens said.
Stevens said the blood drive times have been changed to accommodate the schedules of the parish’s nine-to-fivers.
&uot;We’re hoping that by scheduling a late-afternoon through early evening blood drive, that more people will be able to participate,&uot; she said. &uot;Perhaps people will be able to stop by the community center on their way home form work.
&uot;I know that in the past, it’s been difficult for working people to take off and participate in the morning or early-afternoon blood drives.&uot;
