When carpenter Earl Smith went to work in the attic of the antebellum home Rosalie Friday he didn’t know that he make a discovery that would help give clues to the way of life during the 1830s. Working in the attic, Smith discovered one of the checkbooks of Peter Little, the house’s original owner.
