LIBERTY&045;Officials are still awaiting a completed transcript of the testimony in former Amite County High School Principal Charlie Floyd’s dismissal appeal hearing.
Floyd, a highly successful track coach at Amite County schools for three decades and principal at ACHS since 2000, was dismissed last fall amid an investigation of suspicious changes in student grades.
In the four-day hearing in April, no evidence was produced that Floyd changed any grades or pressured others to do so.
However, the school district claims Floyd, as principal, was responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the student records.
Hearing Officer Perry Sansing said Monday that he hopes to receive a finished transcript of the hearing and forward his report to the Amite County School Board this week or early next week.
Sansing said his report will not include a recommendation in the case.
Board members then must review the report and transcript before making a decision on Floyd’s appeal.
The court reporter in the case estimated the transcript may total 1,000 pages.
