VIDALIA, La. &045; Four-year-old Grace Anne White may be growing up in a house full of brothers, but she’s no tomboy.
Even while running through the fountains at the riverfront Sunday afternoon, she still had a pink bow in her hair &045; albeit a drenched pink bow, which matched her soaking wet Capri pants and pink Band-Aid.
&uot;As long as she’s got the boy, we’ll be all right,&uot; said her father, Lee White, as he and Grace Anne’s brothers watched her chase the intermittent sprays of water.
Older brother Forest was with his mother Wendy at a baseball tournament, but Cap, 17, Jeb, 12, Semmes 10, and Semmes’ friend Brent Gaude spent their time after church just watching Grace Anne play.
&uot;We’ve come here a couple of times,&uot; Lee said of the riverfront. &uot;They always like to play in the fountains.&uot;
The White family has lived in Natchez for four years, having moved from Woodville to be closer to the children’s school, Cathedral. Lee White owns several businesses in Mississippi and Louisiana.
Even though the family has a pool in which Grace Anne and her brothers can cool off, &uot;we don’t have fountains,&uot; Lee smiled.
Much of the summer for the Whites, when not playing around in the water, has been spent at baseball games and tournaments. Grace Anne doesn’t play, however.
&uot;She just cheers,&uot; her father said, just before she showed off her skills with a slightly crooked cartwheel on the concrete.
And when it was time to go home, a giggling Grace Ann had to be chased to get in the truck.
