Ten defendants plead guilty in latest court term

WOODVILLE &045; Sixth Circuit Court Judge Lillie Blockman Sanders accepted guilty pleas from 10 criminal defendants during the June term of Wilkinson County Circuit Court, according to information provided by the District Attorney’s Office.
Three other criminal cases were continued until the October term, one case ended in a mistrial, and one defendant was placed in the Pre-Trial Intervention program.
A synopsis of the court action:
4Travis O’Neal Rutledge, 20, was originally charged with receiving stolen property.
The Court allowed Rutledge to enter Pre-Trial Intervention. If Rutledge complies with the terms of the one-year program, then the charge against him will be dismissed.
4Leon &uot;Pete&uot; McKenzie, 45, pleaded guilty to the original charge of burglary of a dwelling and was sentenced to five years, suspended, and five years of probation.
4Elliot McKenzie, 48, was originally charged with burglary of a dwelling.
McKenzie pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property and was sentenced to six months, suspended, and one year of misdemeanor probation.
4Willie &uot;Bud&uot; Parker, 20, was originally charged with three counts of burglary of a dwelling house.
Parker pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of trespassing and petit larceny and was sentenced to six months, suspended, and one year of misdemeanor probation.
4Kenyon Carter, 21, was originally charged with armed robbery.
Carter pleaded guilty to simple robbery and was sentenced to five years, suspended, and five years of probation.
4James Lushaw, 21, was originally charged with armed robbery.
Lushaw pleaded guilty to simple robbery and was sentenced to five years, suspended, and five years of probation.
4Anthony Smith, 21, was originally charged with armed robbery.
Smith pleaded guilty to simple robbery and was sentenced to five years, suspended, and five years of probation.
4Sammy Davis Wright, 32, pleaded guilty to the original charge of sale of cocaine and was sentenced to 15 years to be served concurrently with a prior sentence.
4Richard Blake, 28, was originally charged with possession of more than 10 grams, but less than 30 grams of cocaine. Blake pleaded guilty to possession of more than 2 grams, but less than 10 grams of cocaine, and was sentenced to 10 years. Seven years of Blake’s term was suspended.
4Wayne Wyatt, 24, pleaded guilty to the original charge of sale of cocaine and was sentenced to five years, suspended, with five years probation.
4Roddis Faust, 28, was originally charged with possession of more than 10 grams, but less than 30 grams of cocaine. Faust pleaded guilty to possession of more than 2 grams, but less than 10 grams of cocaine, and was sentenced to 10 years. Five years of Faust’s term was suspended.
4Sterling Parker, 35, was originally charged with burglary of a storehouse. The case ended in a mistrial with a hung jury.
The District Attorney’s office indicates it will retry the case in the October term of court.
4Greg Peebles, 42, is charged with false pretense. The case against Peebles was continued until the October term of court.
4Craig Bynum, 23, is charged with sale of marijuana. The case against Bynum was continued to the October term of court.
4Victor Simmons, 25, is charged with aggravated assault. The case against Simmons was continued to the October term of court.
