Coroner

James Lee said Tuesday night he believes his Tuesday win over Rosie Sullivan to capture the Democratic nomination for coroner is due to his record.

&uot; There have been no broken promises, and I believe we’ve improved the office of coroner,&uot; said Lee who, in his race for a second term, will face independent John Pullen Nov. 4 in the general election. &uot;I said I would improve it, and I did.

&uot;I think the people of Adams County know who they want as coroner,&uot; he said.

Lee thanked his wife, deputy coroners and poll workers for their support. The pastor also thanked his church members, who celebrated at the Renaissance Room Tuesday night.

&uot;We just had a meal and listened to the returns. We’re not much for the bar scene,&uot; Lee said with a laugh.

On a more serious note Lee said that, if he is elected to a second term, he plans to further update the coroner’s office and to visit schools to talk about the perils of drinking and driving.

Lee won 64.98 percent of the vote to Rosie Sullivan’s 34.87 percent.
