ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. &045; Deputies from West Baton Rouge

Parish executed a search warrant Tuesday at the former home of suspected serial killer Derrick Todd Lee.

West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Mike Cazes said detectives were conducting the search as part of an ongoing investigation into the murder of 21-year-old Geralyn DeSoto.

&uot;We are looking for anything that might further link Lee to the crime,&uot; Cazes said.

DeSoto was found stabbed to death in her Addis

home in January 2002. Officers say Lee’s DNA profile was found in evidence left on DeSoto’s body.

Police say DNA evidence has also linked Lee to the murders of Gina Wilson Green, Charlotte Murray Pace, Pam Kinamore, Trineisha Dene’ Colomb and Carrie Yoder, all killed between September 2001 and March 2003.

By mid-afternoon Tuesday, lawmen from other state and local agencies had joined in the search at the small brick home in the Star Hill community south of St. Francisville.

&uot;They (West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department) called us this morning and said they were going to execute the warrant.

They asked us to put some of our people with theirs to help out,&uot; West Feliciana Parish Sheriff Austin Daniel said.

Detectives searched the yard around the house with metal detectors, marking spots with small yellow flags and digging shallow holes with garden spades and shovels.

At 4 p.m., Daniel said the search had not turned up any new evidence.

&uot;They even brought in some X-ray equipment and X-rayed a slab that had been added on to the carport, but they didn’t find anything,&uot; Daniel said.

Sherman Drury lived next door to Lee’s residence for over five years and recently bought the property.

Drury said Lee was seldom at home.

&uot;I might have seen him two or three times. He just never was here,&uot; Drury said.

But shortly before his arrest in May, Lee appeared and tried to sell the home, Drury said.

&uot;I ended up buying it from the bank after it was repossessed. It’s a nice piece of property,&uot; Drury said.

Drury plans to rent the house and 1-acre lot.
