FERRIDAY, La. &045; Jameca Garrison would like to forget this one.

The only returning starter from last year’s 31-1 Ferriday Lady Trojans fouled out midway through the third quarter Friday, but fortunately for her team the end result was a 54-53 win over Block.

But remember, her role is almost an anomaly &045; a sophomore being asked to provide leadership to a very young group.

&uot;As terrrible as we played, we still ended up pulling it out,&uot; FHS head coach Lisa Abron said.&160;&uot;I guess the team that was more determined pulled it out, but we came out flat. That was the first time (Garrison) fouled out. It’s something she’s got to learn. I chewed her out real good, so maybe it won’t happen again.

I think she felt like she let her teammates down.&uot;

Fortunately for the Lady Trojans, with a little luck, they came out on top. Block’s Tiffany Wilkerson’s one-handed mid-court shot went in, but she released it a second or so after the buzzer sounded.

The Lady Trojans held a 57-47 with 3:09 left in the game before the Lady Bears turned up the heat. Wilkerson hit two 3-pointers to spark an 8-0 run that cut the lead to two, and KeAnna Green hit what turned out to be the game-winner with 1:10 left for the 59-55 lead.
