… Rachel Hooper (1204 West Sunflower Road, Cleveland, MS 38732, 662-843-2439) is looking for information concerning her grandmother, MIRIAM HILL HOOPER. She was born 9 March or May 1870 and died 20 May 1940. She married LEVI BROOKS HOOPER on 7 November 1889. Miriam is buried at Harmony Cemetery near Edinburg, Mississippi. Her parents were FRANCIS L. HILL (born 20 Nov 1831, died 9 Dec 1913) and MARTHA A. HILL (born 15 Aug 1836, died 12 Dec 1931). They are also buried at Harmony Cemetery. Miriam had a brother, Francis L. Hill Jr., and a sister, Mattie KENNEDY. There were other siblings but their names are unknown. It is thought that Francis L. Hill Sr. came to Mississippi from Alabama and that his parents came from South Carolina. Martha A. Hill came from Georgia. Can any reader provide any other information about this family?
… Bea Egger Sullivan (115 Pine Drive, Winona, MS 38967, beasul@ayrix.net) is searching for information about her great grandfather, HARTON KENDRICK (1825-1901). He is buried in Rowan Cemetery in Lowndes County, Mississippi but is not listed in the 1850 Census for Lowndes County. His wife was SARAH ANN STANLEY who has been traced back two generations to Bibb County, Alabama. Does anyone have any more information to contribute about these people?
