Saints’ addition Manson finishes with double-double; N. Pike downs Franklin

ST. JOSEPH, La. &045; Robert Manson, Trinity Episcopal’s newest Australian exchange student, made quite a debut for the Saints Friday night against Tensas.

Hanson finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds as the Saints remained undefeated in MPSA District 7-A with a 48-37 win over the Chiefs.

Trinity trailed by three points at the end of the first quarter, but took a one-point lead at halftime.

Ryan Borsch led Tensas with 12 points.

North Pike 47, Franklin 43

SUMMIT &045; Despite getting 22 points from Zack Thomas, the Bulldogs dropped to 1-1 in Region 7-3A with a tough four-point loss on the road to the Jaguars.

Tough because this game was tied after three quarters at 33-33 and Franklin County had a chance to remain undefeated in 7-3A.

But the Bulldogs could not get over the hump in this game as they were outscored 14-10 in the fourth quarter by the Jaguars.

Winnsboro JV 55, Block 45

JONESVILLE, La. &045; The Wildcats’ junior varsity squad overcame a seven-point deficit with a huge third quarter to defeat the Bears in day two of the Block tournament.

Hillcrest (Tenn.) 67, Natchez 40

COLUMBUS &045; Hillcrest (Tenn.) High turned a close game into a rout over the final three quarters of play to take the 27-point win over the Bulldogs in the Columbus Christmas Tournament Friday night.

Natchez trailed by only two, 12-10, at the end of the first quarter.

Tallulah 56, Huntington 54

FERRIDAY, La. &045; The Hounds had a golden opportunity to get their first win of the season slip through their fingers Friday night as they blew a double-digit lead going into the fourth quarter.

With the score tied at 54-all, the jump-ball possession arrow went Tallulah’s way

Brad Gustafson’s 15-foot jumper was off the mark, but Matt Robertson got the rebound up and made the putback with two seconds left.

WCCA 60, Amite SC 59

WOODVILLE &045; The Rams had four players score in double figures, but it took a layup from William Benton, who had 10 points, with 20 seconds left to give the Rams a huge MPSA District 7-A win Friday night.

Bogue Chitto 76, Cathedral 56

BOGUE CHITTO &045; The Bobcats got 28 points from Irrie Catchings to pick up their first Region 7-1A win of the season Friday night with an impressive win over the Green Wave.
