HOME program to hold public hearings Feb. 3

Public hearings will be held at town halls in Woodville and Centreville on Feb. 3 to obtain citizen input on the development of 2004 HOME Investment Partnership Grant applications for both towns.

Designed to create affordable housing for low-income households and administered by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, HOME allocates more than $1 billion annually to state and local governments.

More specific information regarding eligible activities and the program’s requirements and rating system will be provided at the hearings.

The hearings will be held prior to the regular meetings of the mayors and boards of aldermen in both towns. In Woodville, the hearing will begin at 4:30 p.m. Centreville’s hearing will start at 6:45 p.m.
